Covid Relief
The pandemic disrupted the lives of every human being on the planet, but the worst impacted were those who were already vulnerable, or just rising up in life. If it took most of the world two steps backward, the pandemic put these individuals and communities back by a decade or more. All dreams and progress eroded in a month. Responding to this humanitarian crisis, we at MMF UK initiated projects in healthcare, social welfare and disaster management in partnership with organisations in the UK and in India.
Since 2012, Mukul Madhav Foundation has been working closely with its key partners in the UK to access their expertise and resources for healthcare projects. After the official inauguration of MMF's UK operations in 2019, its partnerships and collaborations now also include partnerships with organizations that enable crucial COVID relief and social welfare initiatives.
These initiatives are aligned with MMF's guiding principle of providing equal access, opportunities, and resources to the most vulnerable and the marginalized locally and in India. Read more about the initiatives and the impact MMF UK has created below.
Meals for Frontline Workers at NHS
2020
The pandemic has caused a global disruption and strain on healthcare services in an unprecedented manner. Mukul Madhav Foundation has always believed in providing aid where it is needed most, no matter what. And if there's one thing needed globally during this pandemic, it is more support for the healthcare system and the frontline workers.
With this thought in mind, MMF sponsored meals for NHS frontline workers for 30 days in May of 2020.
Collaborated Covid Relief Efforts for India
2020
Mukul Madhav Foundation is truly grateful to work with organizations across the UK that have continued to step up and provide crucial pandemic aid to India. MMF UK partnered with the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO), CREO Medical, Hope2Sleep charity in this mission of providing urgent and much needed relief to the Covid patients in India. MMF's transport partners Qatar Airways and Ashok Leyland ensured that support and relief packages reached India and subsequently further inland without any delay or hindrance.
The MMF team coordinated a huge global collaborative effort with its partners for sending essential medical equipment like oxygen concentrators, ventilators, pulse oximeters, and consumables along with the equipment requirements. A third consignment with even more relief material has been dispatched to Patna and Mizoram in India.
From corporations to NGOs to individual donors, Mukul Madhav Foundation is humbled that the organization's like-minded friends have chosen MMF to be their on-ground link and support. These fundraising efforts will go a long way to support India as it emerges from the second wave of the virus.
Action Aid for India
2020
Action Aid is an international non-government organization that works to eliminate poverty and injustice. They work with local partner organizations on a range of community development issues. Finolex Industries and its CSR partner, Mukul Madhav Foundation, have collaborated with Action Aid for a one-year project proposal.
It aimed to support gender-based violence survivors in Madhya Pradesh and provide food security and sustainable livelihood for migrant and marginalised women farmers in Bihar. Currently, in light of the pandemic, funds were redirected to Covid Relief. The partnership also extended the gamut of MMF's COVID relief efforts through 27 volunteers enabling on-ground support across 3 states.
